Safari at Mikumi and Udzunguwa

Date 21st September 2009.  It was about 5 am in the morning me and my friend Upul Uncle left Dar es Salam and started our Journey to Mikumi. We were able to reach to our hotel by 10 am, we stayed over night in Mikumi Tan-Swiss hotel.

Next day in the morning we left from our hotel to the bush. We arrived to park entrance at about 7.30 am to begin our safari. We saw few lions, elephants, zebras and other animals. I have been to Mikumi several times, but this was the best out of all safaris at Mikumi national park. (see my photo stream posted below) We were also lucky to see many elephants, wilder beasts and zebras drinking water from the hippo pool.

After spending more than 7 hours in the park we return to the Tan-Swiss hotel with unforgettable memories.

On 23rd in the morning we journeyed to Udsunguwa Mountain national park which is about 60km from Mikumi town.

Udzunguwa is one of World Biodiversity Hotspot in Tanzania.

We climbed up to last stage (170m) of sanje waterfall and returned back down the same day. Half a day was not enough at all to discover Udzunguwa. Due to lack of time, in the afternoon we started our journey back home to Dar es Salaam.

This was a memorable and very successful safari.
