Mikumi National Park

Mikumi is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and bordered to Africa's biggest game reserve – “the Selous” and highway that runs between Morogoro and Iringa. This is the closest National park to Tanzania capital Dar es Salaam. Park can be accessible year around.

Size:  Size: 3,230 sq km (1,250 sq miles)
Location: 283 km (175 miles) west of Dar es Salaam
How to get there: 3 to 4 hour drive from Dar es Salaam
Best time to view: Dry season between May and November
Animals: Elephants, Giraffes, Impalas, wildebeest, impala and buffalos can be seen easily. Lions can be seen rarely.
Birds: More than 400 birds have been recorded.
Accomadation: There are several luxury cap sites inside the park and many gust house in Mikumi Town.
