Early Sunday we set off to the Mikumi National Park.
By 8am in the morning we arrived at the Park entrance. Due to the heavy rains
our journey was delayed by about one hour. Mikumi National park is located
about 300km from Dar es Salaam.
Unexpectedly the safari vehicle we booked was not in
good condition and we had to use the same vehicle which used to travel from
DAR. I recommend not hiring safari vehicle from Genesis hotel. During our morning
dive we were able to see couple of young lazy lions laying on grass plan. In addition to that we saw impalas, few
zebras, Giraffes and buffalos. I was lucky enough to capture a fight between
two young impales. Further we saw few bird species and I was able to capture
southern Ground-Hornbill, While-Brown Coucal and African Jacana. Photos are posted in another post click below links to redirect.

We drove back to Mikumi Wild life camp for lunch.
After enjoying the nice food we thought of going on evening game drive. Due to
lack of fuel in Mikumi town we had to cancel our drive.
Around 4:30pm we started our journey back to Dar es
Salaam.
We didn’t have enough time to spend in the bush due to
unexpected problem; it was a quite good safari but bit tiring. However was able
to capture some interesting moments of nature.
